The Kansas Future Teacher Academy is held on the campus of Emporia State University fromSunday, June 7 to Thursday, June 11.During this time, academy participants will work with education faculty from area school districts, ESU education faculty, academy alumni, the 2015 National Teachers Hall of Fame inductees, the 2015 Kansas Teacher of the Year Team, and the 2015 Kansas Master Teachers. Applications are being accepted for the 26th annual Kansas Future Teacher Academy; the application is available atwww.emporia.edu/jones/kfta/. Current high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. Applications need to be submitted by April 11, 2015.

Midwest Energy Youth Tour
Midwest Energy is looking for five students interested in an all-expense paid educational trip to Washington D.C. June 11-18, 2015. The five students selected will join over 1,500 others from across the country for the Washington D.C. Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. The Youth Tour is organized by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association with assistance from state cooperative associations including Kansas Electric Cooperatives. Applicants must be juniors in High School and their parents or guardians must receive electric or natural gas service from Midwest Energy. Applications may be obtained from the Midwest Energy website under the link "Youth Tour" at www.mwenergy.com. Prospective applicants should fill out the application and return it to Midwest Energy by March 5, 2015. Midwest Energy had five Board of Director Districts and one student from each district will be chosen, based on the applications received. The applicants chosen will be notified in late March.
